Robert McMahon Jr. started his career in the investment banking industry where he excelled as a personal producer and was named a member to the John Nuveen Advisory Council for excellence in municipal bond financing. Robert is a former United States Marine, has extensive experience working with state and local government agencies, and received a commendation from California Governor Pete Wilson for his work with non-profit organizations that provided jobs for disadvantaged youth. This incredible experience changed Robert forever and he decided to leave the non-profit sector to embark on a “once in a life time journey” to teach children with special needs. He earned a California Special Education Teaching Credential from San Diego State University and taught students with severe emotional disabilities, mental retardation, autism and various other learning disabilities. Robert's son Antonio, his little "Angel", has autism, epilepsy, and ataxic cerebral palsy. Robert was originally recruited into the mortgage banking industry in 1997 and in 2005 joined Guild Mortgage Company. Robert chose Guild Mortgage Company because they are a company with “a heart” and the only CalHFA approved lender that offers the HomeChoice home loan product to people with disabilities. Robert is also an expert at helping school district employees qualify for the CalHFA Extra Credit Teacher Home Purchase Program. He takes great pride in helping first time homebuyers access grant monies, down-payment assistance programs, and non-traditional funding resources to afford his clients every chance possible to become homeowners and create personal wealth. Robert and his wife Ana are co-founders of Homes4Angels, www.homes4angels.org.
